Benin Proverb

The soul has a natural, deep rooted desire to be free of past and present burdens. Burdens are those things which you "carry" around, day-in day-out, making you feel heavy and lethargic and lacking in energy. This could include painful physical, emotional and mental experiences, difficult relationships, notions of religion and 'spirituality'.

Everything that has happened to you is stored and remembered in the body (think 'tissue memory'). These memories remain sitting there, largely silent and just under conscious awareness, and yet affect all of your current life. This continues indefinitely until past experiences have been fully and properly addressed & integrated.

The work I do can be thought of as a subtle listening with my hands to what is lying beneath the surface. This often comes across as the running of deep "currents" or "tides", similar to what is found below the ocean surface.

Sometimes chronic problems fall away rapidly when the root cause is finally found, "listened to" and fully heard. The body has an amazing ability to self-heal when the conditions are right. The frustrating thing for many people is spending time and monkey going to several or more therapists with only superficial results.

My job in all of this is to remain very still, open and completely accepting. This allows the deep tides and currents of your past experience to be heard, brought to surface, and finally dismantled. This is the process of real healing.
