Frank Ray
I have been personally interested in, and a keen practitioner of complementary health for over 10 years now.
My initial interest was sparked whilst at university when I began to practice yoga & meditation to address the stress of studying and the long hours sitting at a desk. I experienced firsthand how beneficial it was to have regular 'downtime', allowing myself the time and space to unwind and process the events of the day. My sleep improved and the general level of everyday tension reduced.
I continued my yoga practice alongside a busy professional life after graduation with good effect. Unfortunately early on in my career, the sedentary nature of computer work brought to the surface some old sporting injuries. After a few failed attempts from physiotherapy, I turned to complementary medicine (acupuncture & massage) for remedial pain relief. Good health was ultimately restored in conjunction with Craniosacral Therapy by the release of chronic muscular and soft-tissue restrictions.
Due to my own experience of successfully treating the pain and compensations of chronic injury, I'm particularly interested in the treatment of chronic low-level pain and both the physical and emotional components of trauma. A desire to work therapeutically with people led me to train as a Yoga Teacher in India and subsequently to study Craniosacral Therapy in London. I find both of these provide good remedial skills and techniques that work very effectively across a range of issues.
I very much enjoy helping people work through their own unique challenges. A relaxed and laid back Australian attitude helps - I'm originally from Perth, Western Australia. 34 years of age and missing my family and the warm evenings spent relaxing on the beach.
